We thought, we started, we struggled, and we made it; we turned the dream into reality. Yes, Pakistan Super League (PSL) was Pakistan’s first International cricket league. It was sponsored by Habib Bank Limited (HBL). PSL conquered million hearts not only in Pakistan, but throughout the world. The success cinched by PSL was beyond expectations. It was the most grandeur and splendorous cricket event ever hosted by Pakistan. Although PSL has to face a continuous bombardment of critical opprobrium by media and the general public, its success proved everyone wrong.

The main purpose of organizing PSL was to bring forth the young talent from streets to the limelight. And undoubtedly, PSL triumphed to do so. It has brought the cricket enthusiasts back on track. PSL was an inclusion of both National and International cricket players. The tournament took place in three stages. Due to security threats, PSL was hosted in Dubai and Sharjah. The Pakistan Super League teams represented five major cities – Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore. PSL 2016

After the tremendous success of the first edition of PSL, the second edition is scheduled to begin in February 2017 in UAE (United Arab Emirates). Although the arrangements are yet to be made. Despite the fact that success of PSL was exceptional, it was only limited to five teams. The teams were Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, and Lahore Qalandars. There are other cities of Pakistan that are enriched with substantial local cricket players, who should be brought forward. According to reports, PSL will extend to at least 8 teams in upcoming series. The 3 major cities that should be added as Pakistan Super League Teams are:

1. Sialkot

Sialkot Stallions is the most successful T20 team on the Pakistan’s domestic circuit. They have won the title of champions for six times. They have the highest streak of consecutive wins, remained unbeaten for 25 matches between 2006 and 2010. Sialkot possesses the unmatched talent of cricket players that needs to be included in the second edition of PSL. So, Sialkot is surely the one who deserves a place in Pakistan Super League teams.

2. Faisalabad

The cricket team of Faisalabad, Faisalabad Wolves, has always been a potential team. They were the winners of the first ever T20 tournament played. The wolves were selected to play in Champions League 2013, in India. They have some preeminent players like Ehsan Adil, Talha, and Asad Ali who require a bigger platform to show their talent. So, Faisalabad should be the part of upcoming Pakistan Super League Teams.

3. Azad Kashmir

While including the teams from major cities of Pakistan, one should not neglect the emerging talent of cricket players found in Azad Kashmir. The new talented players like Bilal Haneef, Arslan Arif, Nabeel Mehmood, and Hasnain Safeer need a proper platform to exhibit their talent. This will also create the sense of equality and harmony among the cities of Pakistan.
