PSH is a project run by Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM), Government of Pakistan. Till now around 31 Sweet Homes have been established in all provinces of Pakistan, residing 3100 orphans. But still, there are hundreds of orphans we see on the streets begging for money. Those orphans can be brought to such homes, for giving them better lives. These orphans are living in Islamabad Sihala, Bara Kahu Islamabad, and Pak-town Rawalpindi. It is primarily a home for orphan children who have lost either or both of their parents. They are facilitating the children by providing them with quality education, boarding, recreational, and co-curricular activities.
PSH was first established in 2009 when a child from Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was handed to Mr. Zammurd Khan of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). Mr. Zammurd Khan was the managing director of PBM. Instead of handing the child to an orphanage, he thought of building a place with world class facilities for such children. The orphans of Pakistan Sweet Homes include victims of Balochistan unrest, Swat operation, flood and earthquake affectees.
