Cricket is a surprising game and it always entertains the viewers with unbelievable batting innings, bowling spells, and extraordinary fielding. But it is not a catch on the field that has captured the attention of cricket community. Mohammad Irfan, the Pakistani fast bowler, took the most inexplicable catch when he plucked a seagull out of the thin air.

Mohammad Irfan caught the seagull while he was spending some free time with some of his colleagues in Dubai. He surprised everyone on board as he comfortably grabbed the seagull from the midair and then released it back in the air.

Mohammad Irfan is certainly a very talented man, on and off field. He is a left-arm fast bowler, known not only for his pace but also for his height. He is 7’1’’ (216 cm), which makes him the tallest player in the history of cricket on the first class level as well as in the international cricket. Before him, the record of tallest cricketer was held by the West Indian fast bowler Joel Garner and Bruce Reid, an Australian fast bowler. Both of them are 6’8” (203 cm) tall.

Do you know: Mohammad Irfan is a left arm bowler but when it comes to batting he is a right-hand batsman. (Source: Wikipedia)

He made his first class debut in the Quaid-e-Azam trophy in October 2009. He displayed a very impressive performance in the whole tournament. Before he was called for the national team, he even considered hanging his cap and was working for a plastic pipe company.

He made his international debut when he was 28 years old and he got the chance to play after the unfortunate departure of Pakistan’s main key bowlers Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif.

He was not able to perform very well in some of the first matches he played and was dropped from the team. He was able to portray his true potential when he made his T20 international debut in 2012 against India. There was an immense improvement in his pace and he proved to be the wild card that secured the series for Pakistan. His brisk pace, when combined with the height of 7’1’’, is a unique combination that is very hard to find. His uniqueness brings a whole new dimension to the Pakistani bowling attack and he has managed to give the Pakistan Cricket Team an edge that none of the other teams have.
