She is surprised that the censor board has banned her movie without even watching it. She was worried about the ban and hopes the distributors have been spoken to.

Sonam Kapoor is a Bollywood actress born to the famous actor Anil Kapoor and his wife Sunita Kapoor. She was born in Mumbai and has two other siblings. She got her early education from Arya Vidya Mandir School in Juhu. For her pre-university education, she went to United World College of South East Asia in Singapore where she studied arts and theatre. She also took courses in economics and political sciences through correspondence. She studied acting alongside famous actors and cited their work which was an inspiration for her. The 30-year-old actress started her acting career with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya. Sonam’s latest movie is ‘Neerja’, which is based on a true story of the flight that got hijacked on Karachi airport back in 1986. The movie depicts the brave-heart flight attendant Neerja Bhanot who saved many lives during the hijack of the Pan Am flight 73. Neerja Bhanot was awarded with Tamgha-e-Insaniyat for her act of valor. The astonishment of Sonam Kapoor on the ban of the movie was perhaps because of the award. According to her, the banned movie is based on the story of the woman who was awarded for her kindness to the Pakistani people.

Pakistan has reportedly banned the movie because it is showing the country in bad light, which of course is not acceptable. Moreover, Pakistan’s respective ministry annulled the certificate to import the film after initial clearance due to which it was banned without even a review. In the past, movies on Indo-Pak theme have been banned as well because of the anti-pak content they contained.

Sonam Kapoor was really disappointed at the ban of her upcoming ‘Neerja’ and has expressed her affection for Pakistan. She has half-Pakistani best friends too and she is in a state of shock after what Pakistan has done regarding her movie. However, she has high hopes for her movie and hopes that her movie will be showcased everywhere. Well we wish Sonam Kapoor best of luck for her movie and hope that her love for Pakistan will also continue in future.
